    Intex Inflatable Kayaks and Boats

Intex is a huge company manufacturing an incredible amount of water sports products, ranging from inflatable kayaks and boats, to airbeds, pools, and other water sports related toys.

In this article, we will be going over a few of the company’s inflatable boats and kayaks. Each one will be reviewed exhaustively, so that you can have a better time choosing which model will be most appropriate for your water sports needs.

A Brief Overview of the Intex Brand

Intex Explorer K2 Kayak, 2-Person Inflatable Kayak - enjoy funBefore we start with the review, getting to know Intex as a brand in general will provide you with great insights as to how they handle their products. Plus, being familiar with the company’s history is more likely to make you trust them.

It has been well over four decades since the Intex brand was founded, which was way back in 1966. Their base of operation is located in California, specifically in the Long Beach area.

Unbeknown to some of its current consumers, or to the general public for that matter, Intex is not the first name of the group. In its earliest years, the brand was actually called “The Wet Set”. Another interesting fact about the brand concerns the very first inflatable item they ever released, which is a beach ball.

It was not until 1997 that Intex began to widen its product catalogue with the creation of its original above ground swimming pool. From there, new types of inflatables were slowly added in, which eventually lead to the inclusion of boats and kayaks.

By borrowing concepts from their previous works and implementing them in their inflatable vessels, you can be sure that each boat is guaranteed to perform without fail. Apart from this, Intex also developed unique technologies specific to their boat series, allowing them to stand out that even more.

Today, Intex-made products can be accessed from more than 100 countries, worldwide. Just from this global feat alone, you can already tell that the brand is highly trusted.

    Intex Inflatable Kayaks and Boats

Intex’s inflatable boats are currently categorized into two groups, namely: the professional series boats, and sports series boats. The former includes models that are engineered for optimal performance and maximum durability, whereas the latter is has more of a recreational purpose. Either way, both classes offer units that are rugged and stable.

    • Intex Challenger K1 Inflatable Kayak

Intex Challenger K1 inflatable kayakThe Challenger K1 is one of Intex’s entry-level inflatable kayaks. It is a one-person kayak that features an inflatable I-beam floor, which adds rigidity to the base of the unit. The kayak also sports a low profile design, allowing you to control it more efficiently.

For your storage needs, you can make use of the cargo net on the front end of the kayak. It has enough space to secure you medium to large sized items, while also providing easy access to them.

You can also find a grab line on both ends of the inflatable kayak, so you can carry it in and out of the water effortlessly. Speaking of carrying, the kayak weighs 24 lbs., which is light enough for one person to lift up and transport with ease.

As for the overall dimensions of the Intex Challenger K1, it has a length of 9 ft., and a width of 2.5 ft. The total amount of heft it can bear when fully inflated is around 220 lbs. Such capacity is enough for one adult-sized human, plus some gears.

The sitting compartment is wide enough for you to easily get in and out of the kayak. In addition, the inflatable seat has a backrest, giving you long lasting comfort while paddling. You can also freely adjust or remove the seat, which provides plenty of ways to achieve a position that you will be most comfortable with.

At the back of the kayak, a removable skeg can be attached. Such accessory will improve the overall tracking of the kayak and its ability to slice through water. This will not only benefit the general maneuverability of the inflatable kayak, but it will also minimize the effort you need to put in with each paddle you execute.

The construction of the Intex Challenger K1 is also impressive for its price. With the use of heavy duty, puncture-resistance vinyl, you can use the kayak on lakes or non-rapid rivers without fear of puncturing an air chamber.

Accessory-wise, this kayak comes with the following add-ons: 84” aluminum oars, a high output hand pump, and a patching kit.

    • Intex Mariner 4 Inflatable Boat

Intex Mariner 4 inflatable boatLooking for the perfect 4-person inflatable boat for various boating and outdoor activities? Then, the Mariner 4 by Intex is the perfect inflatable raft for you. You can use it either for a camping trip, for fishing, or even just for some leisurely cruising.

When completely deflated, the Intex Mariner 4 can be easily folded and stored, making it very portable. Once fully inflated, the unit transforms into a tough yet still flexible watercraft. A huge reason why it is so durable is because of its strong molecular structure.

Thanks to the SUPER TOUGH PVC, 3-ply construction of the item, abrasions and punctures are aptly abated. This build also makes the unit highly resilient against UV degradation, so you can sail under the sun all you want.

For some added protection against impacts, this inflatable boat also employs a durable rock guard around the hull. Above this layer of protection, an all-around nylon grab line can be seen, which you can use to divide manpower when transporting the boat.

Setting up the Mariner 4 does not take long. This is made possible with the help of the four Boston valves on the main hull chamber. These ports are not only easy to access, but also pumping and releasing air through them is seamless, resulting to fast inflation and deflation.

Aside from the main hull, this model also has an inflatable keel. This may not seem all that much, especially in the eyes of a beginner, but having this added shape results in better tracking compared to others that do not have it.

When fully assembled, this inflatable watercraft measures 129 x 57 x 19 inches. It weighs around 86.9 lbs. As for the max weight capacity, it can withstand up to 880-lbs. (400 kg.) of total heft.

Intex Composite Boat Motor Mount Kit for Inflatable Boats Mariner 4 Challenger 3The boat also has rotating oar locks and oar holders, ensuring that your paddles do not fall underwater, while also making your paddling effortless. There are three inflatable seat cushions on the deck, which can support all four passengers comfortably.

More importantly, you can choose to outfit the Mariner 4 with an engine, via the motor mounting accessory. With that said, a battery pouch is readily provided, in case you choose to install an outboard.

Along with the main module, you will also get a repair kit, a set of 54-in. deluxe aluminum oars, and a high-output hand pump. You can also find 2 rod holders on the boat, which is great for hands-free fishing.

    • Intex Excursion 5 Inflatable Boat

Intex Excursion 5 Inflatable Raft BoatThe Excursion 5 is one of the largest inflatable boats in Intex’s arsenal. It sports a total of 3 air chambers, giving the unit high buoyancy rating. Moreover, such amount of air bladders will allow the boat to stay afloat in the event that one of them is accidentally punctured, so you can safely row back to shore.

The inflation and deflation process is also made fast and stress free, all thanks to the accessible Boston valves of the main hull. After you are done with your adventure, the boat can then be folded back with ease.

Like with most Intex inflatables, a grab line is also threaded around this model, which can be used for both utility and safety purposes. Aside from the grab line, carry handles are also found on both ends of the vessel, which promotes quick and painless transport.

Prevention of punctures and abrasion is carried out effectively with the aid of the boat’s heavy-duty PVC construction. The inflatable floor has an I-beam design, which not only makes the deck rigid, but it also augments the stability of the craft.

The Intex Excursion 5 has physical dimensions of 144 x 66 x 17 inches. It has a max weight limit of 1,300 lbs., which is sufficient for 4 people, although it might still be possible to add 1 more person onboard.

Alternatively, you can take full advantage of the large weight capacity by paddling with less passengers, but more equipment, which is an ideal setup for activities like fishing. Speaking of which, there are 4 rod holders placed around the hull, so you can do other things while waiting for a bite.

All in all, there are 3 inflatable seats available for the Intex Excursion 5 inflatable boat, 2 of which have a backrest and are placed at both front and rear ends of the boat. As for the 3rd one, it is placed in the middle, but it is just a bench with no back support.

To make your rowing easier, simply utilize the oar holders. Moreover, you will receive the following accessories upon your purchase of the Excursion 5: two 54-in. aluminum oars, high output air pump, repair kit, and carry bag.

Intex Explorer K2 Kayak, 2-Person Inflatable Kayak setThe Intex Explorer K2 is an awesome combination of speed and comfort. It is a 2-person inflatable kayak that can slice through water easily, and accommodate passengers for hours. This guarantees that you get to explore as much of the surrounding seascapes as you can.

The Explorer K2 is not only sporty in design, but it also has the performance to back it all up. Thanks to its streamlined build, paddling has never been easier, especially with two people working together.

To ensure your comfort, the bundled inflatable seats of this kayak also come with a backrest, which minimizes the likelihood of lower back strain. Furthermore, the sitting compartment has plenty of space for your legs to position restfully.

A front and rear grab line makes it easier to divide the carry load between you and the other passenger. The 31.13-lbs. bulk of the Intex Explorer K2 also helps in this regard, allowing you and your partner to transport the item in and out of the water smoothly.

    • Intex Challenger 2 Inflatable Boat

Intex Challenger 2 Inflatable Boat - cheapDo not confuse the Challenger 2 as a higher version of the Challenger K1, because it is not a kayak, but rather an inflatable boat. It is also one of the cheapest 2-person inflatable boats currently out in the market. If you are looking for an entry-level boat that is capable of carrying you and another passenger, but without breaking the bank, then this will appeal to you.

Having been manufactured with heavy-duty PVC fabric, you can trust this model to not rip, puncture, or pop, just out of the blue. The 3 air chambers of the unit also elevate its overall reliability to keep you above water, in case one is accidentally pierced.

Similar to almost all inflatable watercrafts made by Intex, the Challenger 2 also comes with quick-access Boston valves, which makes inflation and deflation a breeze. The carry handle on the bow and all-around grab line also yield incredible utility and convenience.

When it comes to physical dimensions, the Intex Challenger 2 measures 93 x 45 x 16 inches. Maximum weight capacity is rated at 440 lbs., which is already plenty for two people, and maybe some onboard gear. On that note, these are the following accessories that come with the main module: two 48-in. French oars, a repair patch, and an Intex hand pump.

Unfortunately, the Challenger 2 does not come with seats. However, the deck is spacious enough for you and your partner to comfortably sit on. Even without a seat, the built-in oar locks and oar holders still make the rowing easy.

Surprisingly enough, the Intex Challenger 2 inflatable boat can also be affixed with a motor, provided that you also obtain the proper motor mount fixture. Nevertheless, this boat can be maneuvered just fine, with or without an engine.

Intex Seahawk 4 Inflatable boat - cheapThe Intex Seahawk 4 is the ideal budget inflatable boat for a group of 4. It is built using Intex’s own SUPER TOUGH™ PVC material, which fares rather well against impacts and potential abrasions. This type of construction also keeps the boat flexible, making it easy to fold and unfold.

Motor fitting is available for the Seahawk 4, which is a great option to have for when you finally decide to add more speed and glide to your boating experience. However, even without a motor in place, the Intex Seahawk 4 is still an easy boat to maneuver via rowing, more so with the aid of the welded oar locks and oar holders.

To store your small personal effects, use the built-in gear pouch. And when you decide to go fishing, this product has two rod holders for you to exploit. You also do not have to hold back when reeling in those huge catches, since this inflatable boat can withstand up to 1,050-lbs. of weight.

    What makes Intex so great?

    • Intex Explorer K2 Kayak, 2-Person Inflatable Kayak - enjoy funAffordability

The biggest advantage that Intex has over other inflatable boat-producing brands, is the cheap price ranges that their units retail at. Even their large 4-person boats are considered cheap by most standards. If you are new to the world of inflatables, then this brand is one of the best place to start.

    • Surprisingly well-built

It is not uncommon for relatively cheap products to be associated with sub-par or mediocre quality. However, Intex is certainly an exception to this notion. Despite being inexpensive, Intex still employs high-grade materials in its inflatable kayaks and boats, most of which are PVC-based.

    • Great set of accessories

The accessories that Intex bundle with their boat lineups yield immense value for the price you are paying in general. Some of higher-end products might not even come with anything other than a carry bag. This company on the other hand, will at least include a paddle and a pump in majority of its available units.

Aquaglide has its beginnings more than three decades ago near the Columbia river. The pioneers of the company have always been near the water and also had the feel of adventure. Probably part of the reason is that the company’s original headquarters was at the base of three volcanoes which are famous throughout the world.

The waters surrounding Aquaglide’s office were a combination of interconnected waterways that seemingly went on forever, calm and easy coves, and of course whitewater rapids. These varying water environments led the people behind Aquaglide to come up with world-class quality inflatable kayaks and blow up paddle boards.

Because the designers and manufacturers of Aquaglide were exposed to both calm waters as well as extreme, dangerous ones, it is not a wonder that they knew exactly just what a kayaker needed for almost any type of water environment.

Aquaglide’s reputation in the field of water sports is indeed 30 years’ worth of experience in creating reliable commercial inflatables that could survive, thrive and can be used anytime of the day.

To make this review simpler, let us go over what comes with the Pro version first. With this promo, you will receive the following items: two 7 ft. 10 in. AB30 paddles, two deluxe inflatable seats, an A42 foot pump, a carry bag, and a small repair kit.

The Sea Eagle SE370 is ideally made for two paddlers, but with its 295-kg. max weight capacity, you can have your dog accompany you. As for the size of the kayak, it measures 381 cm. long and 86 cm. wide. The unit weighs around 15 kg., which is lightweight enough for you and another person to carry effortlessly.

The SE370K_P model of Sea Eagle is built using 38 mil Polykrylar (K80 PVC) material, resulting to high puncture resistance. Furthermore, the flooring on this kayak uses the brand’s own inflatable I-beam construction, which is not only rigid, but also highly resistant to tears, even with your canine onboard.

In rare instances where one of the air compartments is pierced, you can rest easy that you will still stay afloat. This is because the kayak is equipped with 3 individual air bladders. One is the floor, and the other two are the port and starboard.

Inflating the Sea Eagle SE370K_P kayak takes no time at all, and can be finished in just 8 minutes. Plus, the high frequency welded seams make the inflatable kayak strong yet flexible. Tracking is also optimized even when it is used on class III whitewater, thanks to the 2 skegs on the bottom section of the kayak.

    • Sea Eagle SE330 Pro Inflatable Kayak

Sea Eagle SE330 Inflatable Kayak with Pro PackageThe Sea Explorer 330 model looks just like the SE370, but with a slightly shorter and lighter build. Specifically, the Sea Eagle SE330 measures 340 cm. in length, and has an overall heft of 12 kg. With its compact build, it can only carry up to 227 kg. of bulk, but it can still hold 2 people just fine.

Much like the previous item, the Sea Eagle SE300 Pro version also comes with the same set of accessories. Moreover, the SE330 is suitable for class III whitewater and below. In contrast to the SE370, the Polykrylar (K80 PVC) material used on this version is 5-mil thinner (33 mil). Nevertheless, both have relatively the same level of durability.

The port, starboard, and floor, accounts for the total number (3) of air chambers in this device. Speaking of floor, this one is also equipped with the 5-tube inflatable I-beam construction. If rigidity and buoyancy is what you are after, the Sea Eagle SE330 inflatable kayak will not disappoint.

To help keep you dry, the kayak uses lashed down inflatable spray skirts. If water splashes in, you can get rid of it via the open and close drain valve. Getting back on the deck after falling overboard is also made easy by climbing via the bow and stern grab line.

Inflating this kayak only takes 6 minutes, give or take. This allows you to get in and out of the water quickly. As for tracking capabilities, the 2 skegs on the bottom of the Se330 kayak will enhance such performance.

    • Sea Eagle Razorlite 393RL Inflatable Kayak

Sea Eagle Razorlite 393rl Pro package Inflatable KayakThe RazorLite™ series of Sea Eagle is all about speed. With that said, each unit under this category sports a narrower build. For the Sea Eagle Razorlite 393RL, it measures 71 cm. in width and 391 cm. in length.

More importantly, the Razorlite products are the world’s first all drop stitch floor inflatable kayaks. This breakthrough engineering makes the kayak so firm that you can even stand on it, similar to a stand up paddleboard. However, you should stick to a sitting position first, especially if you are just starting out.

The person capacity of the Razorlite 393RL model is limited to one. It can bear up to 227 kg. of total weight, which is more than sufficient for one average-sized adult, and a couple of gears. As for the heft of the hull, it weighs 15 kg., which is lightweight for one person to carry.

There are 3 air chambers in the Razorlite 393RL (port, starboard, and floor). The inflatable kayak is manufactured using a combination of 1,100 decitex reinforced fabric, quadruple overlapped seam, and drop stitch material.

Aside from having a narrow and long shape, the kayak also sports unique bow and stern molds with tapered side walls. This design approach improves the tracking performance of the kayak, allowing it to slice through water seamlessly. The large, removable, swept back rear skeg also contributes in this regard.

When cruising at high speeds, there is always a likelihood for water to splash inside the deck. Luckily, there is a spray skirt on both front and rear ends of the kayak to keep you dry, while the 2 open and close drains valves prevent the accumulation of fluid.

    • Sea Eagle 385FT FastTrack Inflatable Kayak

Sea Eagle 385FT FastTrack Deluxe Inflatable KayakThe Sea Eagle FastTrack™ series is known for its inflatable ‘NeedleKnife Keel’ design. With it, you will be able to paddle faster and straighter, all without sacrificing balance. Speaking of which, the sleek asymmetrical shape of the 385FT FastTrack model also abates accidental overturns, even with more than one person onboard.

Dimensions-wise, the Sea Eagle 385FT FastTrack measures 381 cm. long and 91 cm. wide. Its max weight capacity is around 288 kg., which is adequate for a group of 3 people. However, the 385FT is more ideal for 2 passengers in order to maximize performance.

Unlike the first three entries, this one has a total of 4 air chambers. This includes the port, starboard, floor, and now the keel. Such amount guarantees that in case one of the tubes is punctured, you will still have several reserves left to keep you floating, so you can safely get back to shore.

Despite having an additional air bladder to inflate, this inflatable kayak can still be assembled in just 7 minutes. The seam is electronically welded and is quadruple overlapped, resulting to high pressure resilience.

In general, the 385FT by Sea Eagle is constructed with 1,100 decitex reinforced fabric. As for the base, a removable high pressure drop stitch floor can be inserted. Surprisingly, this unit is compatible with a 34-lbs. thrust electric motor with a max engine weight of 15 lbs.

However, you have to buy the mount and engine separately. Alternatively, you can avail the Pro motor package deal of the product, which will include these two fixtures, but at a discounted rate. The standard version comes with the following accessories: nylon carry bag, repair kit, and printed instructions.

There are 18 D-rings on the Sea Eagle 385FT FastTrack, which you can use to secure the seats and your gears. Due to its flatter shape, you are advised not to ride the kayak beyond class II whitewater.

    • Sea Eagle TC16 Travel Inflatable Canoe

Sea Eagle TC16 Inflatable Travel Canoe KayakAll the products we have discussed thus far are inflatable kayaks. The TC16 Travel, however, is an inflatable canoe, which is currently the only one of its kind among Sea Eagle’s vast collection of inflatables. The biggest advantage it has over solid canoes is portability.

Unlike the traditional variant, the Sea Eagle TC16 can be folded easily, and can even fit in the trunk of a small car. What is even more impressive is that this inflatable canoe is as stable as a regular hard-body canoe. A big factor to such stability is the patented all drop stitch construction of the craft.

The air compartments can be inflated to a max pressure of 10 psi. In terms of quantity, there are 3 bladders in total (port, starboard, and floor). The main fabric used here is a 1,100 decitex (1000 denier) reinforced material.

With the estimated 488 cm. (16 ft.) length and 97 cm. width of this canoe, it can accommodate 2-3 persons. If you are going to paddle with 3 people aboard, then the ideal weight limit is 363 kg. On the other hand, if there is just the two of you, you can bring some gears, up to 415 kg. of total load.

Another amazing feature of the Sea Eagle TC16 Travel inflatable canoe is the packaged seats, which also makes use of the drop stitch technology. Each seat has a backrest, which yields long lasting comfort. Additionally, you can adjust the seating arrangement through the 12 D-rings, so that everyone can get ample legroom.

You no longer have to worry about slipping, thanks to the 2 diamond patterned non-slip EVA foam pads on the deck floor. And even though the hull weight is 32 kg., the front and rear carry handles, plus the 2 center carry handles, provide a lot of ways to divide manpower when transporting the TC16 canoe.

If you are experienced enough for a class IV whitewater, the Sea Eagle TC16 (16’) Travel canoe is certainly up for the challenge. The 4 open and close floor drains of the inflatable canoe are also put to great use in such activity, because of all the splashing that will take place.

It features a patented folding frame design, which has the bracing platforms already attached to the tubes.

This revolutionary design is what allows the product to be rolled and unrolled without much effort, except for detaching the seats and other custom parts. In a conventional framed pontoon boat, you would need to bolt in the separate frames.

The full fabric flooring is also another edge that the 375FC FoldCat possesses over other pontoon boats, which typically come with an open bottom. Its primary function is to prevent your small items from dropping directly in the water.

When completely assembled, this Sea Eagle inflatable pontoon boat will measure 375 cm. long and 137 cm. wide. Such space is optimal for 2 adult-sized humans. The overall load limit is 295 kg., which is perfect for reeling in those big catch, without being weighed down.

Classic Accessories Inflatable Pontoon Boats and Fishing Float TubesClassic Accessories is one of the main manufacturers of inflatable pontoon boats and fishing float tubes. Their reliability and experience makes Classic Accessories stand on top of the lead.

One of the main focus of Classic Accessories is providing protection for you through the use and manufacture of durable fabric. Classic Accessories designs strong fabric covers for a variety of products such as car seat covers to back-up generator covers; and they know how to manufacture high quality inflatable products, such as inflatable pontoon boats and float tubes.

With their tough inflatable bladders made of PVC material, they clearly demonstrate how reliable and professional the company is when it comes to the fabric that it produces.

A Brief Overview of the Classic Accessories Brand

It’s been well over three decades, the year 1983 to be exact, that Classic Accessories became the company that it is today. The company has its roots in Seattle’s Roosevelt, and the company’s founder is Jacob Engelstein.

In his small basement, Engelstein sought out to create automotive accessories that involved the use of padded fabric such as seat belt pads and steering wheel covers. The market was in place and with that Engelstein consistently addressed the growing demands.

It came to a point when Classic Accessories realized that why limit yourself to using padded fabric and covers to the small portions of a car. Why not include making a cover for the entire car? If a car can be covered, then surely the company could also do the same for a boat. Or something equal in size, maybe even bigger.

Today, Classic Accessories makes covers for all sorts of vehicles like cars, RVs, motorcycles, boats, and even power equipment like generators. In its fabric used for boat covers, Classic Accessories eventually ventured into inflatable pontoon boats. The same level of competence of providing durable and reliable protection for vehicle and equipment covers applies to its inflatable pontoon boats and fishing float tubes.

Classic Accessories is all about providing protection for you whenever you are outdoors, in the most convenient and practical means. With them, you get to enjoy your outdoor activities much better. You feel safe and secure whenever you use Classic Accessories.

    Link to Sevylor Standup Paddleboards

In order to get a better grasp of each model that we are about to go over below, it would be most beneficial if you first acquaint yourself with the brand. Recognizing the history and ambition of the business will help you realize the commitment they put into all their creations.

To start with, Sevylor was founded back in 1948. Interestingly enough, the business’ original products were not inflatable devices; rather, they began with building electrical accessories after World War II, France. It was not until the small company stumbled upon a particular process of handling PVC materials that would eventually lead them to their current, wide-ranging catalogue of inflatables.

Sevylor was already using its own high-frequency welding machines, which they used to create their first ever inflatable bathtub. This early innovation would later propel the company into becoming one of the most competitive and sought after suppliers of PVC-made inflatables.

With over six decades of experience in the industry, it is no surprise that people of all walks of life continue to put their trust in the brand. But, even with all the success it has garnered, Sevylor still strives to discover new cutting-edge technologies to help improve their manufacturing. This dedication is clearly evident with all the latest features they add in each new product iteration.

Some of these advancements include the Air Tight System®, Double Lock Valve™, and Snap ‘N’ Stay™ system, among others. More importantly, all canoes, kayaks, and boats, under Sevylor are NMMA® (National Marine Manufacturers Association) certified, ensuring that each item is compliant to all safety and construction standards.

    Sevylor Kayaks and Boats Reviews

Armed with your knowledge about Sevylor’s humble beginnings up to its undeniable success, let us now go over seven of some of the best products it has to offer. Keep in mind that these items are not ranked. Each one is unique and suits a particular usage, so it is up to you to choose which will meet your personal boating criteria the most.

    • Sevylor Quikpak K1

Sevylor Quikpak K1 1-Person Inflatable Kayak - with backpack pump paddleThe Sevylor Quikpak K1 is a sit-on-top kayak, which means riding it will expose your entire body to the outside and you’ll be able to get off very quickly. Setting it up only takes around 5 minutes, give or take. Such short amount of time will not only allow you to get on the water quickly, but it also makes the disassembly effortless.

Speaking of disassembly, the Quikpak K1 features a unique easy-to-carry backpack system wherein the carry bag doubles as the seat. Because the seat is not completely separate, the entire unit will not take up that much space in your vehicle. Once you arrive at your destination, all you need to do is simply unfold and inflate the boat, and you are set to go.

In terms of build, the Sevylor Quikpak K1 uses a 21-gauge PVC fabric, giving it a rugged form. In addition, the bottom section sports a tarpaulin construction, which aids in resisting punctures and abrasions.

There are 5 air chambers (2 large, 3 small) that keep the Quikpak K1 buoyant. With such quantity, you can be sure that in case one of them pops, you will have enough spare to keep yourself afloat until you get back on land.

The Sevylor Quikpak K1 also features the Airtight® system, which prevents any air leakage from occurring. Moreover, the Double Lock™ valves integrated in the boat contributes to efficient inflation and deflation.

When it comes to your comfort, the seat has a backrest that will support your lumbar area. There is also an adjustable footrest, so you can assume a position that you will be most comfortable with.

To secure your various gears, make use of the bungee lacing at the front end of the craft. Surprisingly, you can also find a cup holder on the kayak, which is not that common for an inflatable of its class.

For a solo inflatable kayak, the Quikpak K1 is easy to transport, thanks to its two carry handles. It can also bear up to 400 lbs. of total weight capacity, which complements its 8 ft. 7 in. x 3 ft. physical dimensions.

Upon your purchase of the item, a bundled hand pump and paddle will also come with it. Although the two are only the basic kind, they still add great value, especially for the affordable price of this cheap inflatable kayak.

Sevylor Quikpak K5 1-Person Inflatable Kayak - pump paddle backpack includedCompared to the Quikpak K1, this iteration is longer and narrower. To be more specific, it measures 10 ft. long and 2 ft. 10 in. wide. Despite the difference in size, the Quikpak K5 can still be assembled in 5 minutes.

In contrast to the open deck setup of the previous entry, the Sevylor Quikpak K5 kayak sports a close deck build. This type of seating arrangement is ideal for staying warm and dry, even more so with the spray covers. Therefore, if the rivers or lakes in your area tend to get too cold, the Quikpak K5 of Sevylor is the perfect kayak to use.

When it comes to the construction, this inflatable is built using 24-gauge PVC as the main fabric. The bottom is still layered with tarpaulin, similar to the Quikpak K1. However, a polyester cover has also been added, which contributes to an even stronger protection against punctures.

With the double lock valves, the inflatable kayak is easy to pump air into and deflate. Furthermore, the ports utilize 2 locking points, making certain that air will not escape. The Sevylor Quikpak K5 comes with the easy-to-carry backpack system as well, along with two carry handles.

A bungee lacing is present in both the front and back of the seat, giving you multiple areas to secure your important equipment. Several D-rings are also supplied, so you can attach your other items. The Sevylor Quikpak K5 kayak comes with a hand pump, paddle and backpack.

    • Sevylor Big Basin 3-Person

Sevylor Big Basin 3-Person Inflatable KayakIf you are a family of three, then the Sevylor Big Basin kayak will appeal to you. It can withstand up to 490 lbs. of total weight, and has enough space to comfortably seat 3 average-sized individuals. Another reason as to why this Sevylor kayak can accommodate such number of people is because of its 13 ft. 3 in. x 3 ft. 1 in. (length x width) physical dimensions.

Durability is not a problem in the Sevylor Big Basin 3-Person kayak. With the combined strength of the PVC fabric and tarpaulin bottom, you can expect the boat to survive quite the beating. But, you should still handle and maintain it properly.

In the event that one air chamber is accidentally punctured, the inflatable kayak will still keep you on the surface, all thanks to its multiple air chambers. The company’s own Airtight System also does an incredible job of abating air leaks.

Each seat is adjustable, ensuring that all three of you can position restfully and with optimal legroom. For added utility, the seat can also be detached, so you can free up some room for accessories whenever you paddle with one less passenger.

Unlike the two aforementioned items, the Sevylor Big Basin 3-Person kayak does not come with paddles or pump. It is, however, packaged with a carry bag and a pressure gauge.

    • Sevylor Fiji 2-Person

Sevylor Fiji 2-Person Inflatable KayakThe Sevylor Fiji is a 2-person kayak that retails within a similar price range to a 1-person kayak. If you are just starting out and want to test how an inflatable kayak works with a partner, but without breaking the bank, the Sevylor Fiji 2-person is a worthwhile entry-level investment.

You also have the option to ride solo, because the front seat is removable. The seats are inflatable and therefore flexible to use. The seat support is decent, having a non-padded seat can become uncomfortable the longer you stay out on the water.

Much like the other lineups mentioned thus far, the Sevylor Fiji 2-person kayak is also equipped with multiple air chambers, which provides you with several reserves if one perforates. The air compartments also factor in on the amount of weight the kayak can carry. In this unit’s case, it can hold up to 400 lbs. of heft, which is more than enough for two adult-sized human.

There are also spray covers to shield you against splashes. Accessory-wise, the Sevylor Fiji only includes a paddle and a carry bag. You need to buy the air pump separately, or you can use your old one.

For the largeness of the vessel, the Fiji kayak measures 10 ft. 4 in. x 2 ft. 9 in. (length x width). The kayak is manufactured using 22-gauge PVC. Unfortunately, no tarpaulin bottom is indicated. Nevertheless, punctures and tears are still aptly abated.

    • Sevylor Tahiti

Sevylor Tahiti Classic Inflatable KayakThe Sevylor Tahiti is a unique entry on this list. The reason being is that it is available in 2 variants. One is the Sevylor Tahiti Classic 2-person kayak, and the other is the Sevylor Tahiti Hunt & Fish 2-person version. The most notable difference between the two is in their design.

The fishing model sports a dark olive green color, which allows it to blend in with the surroundings and avoid being spotted by your potential catch. The classic Sevylor Tahiti on the other hand, displays a vibrant yellow hue, which exudes fun.

The two variations are of the same length, which is around 10 ft. 4 in. long. In terms of width, however, the classic is narrower than the fishing model, each measuring 2 ft. 9 in. and 3 ft. 1 in. wide, respectively. Lastly, the latter has an adjustable seat, whereas the former does not.

Other than the aforesaid changes, the rest of the features remain relatively the same on both forms of the Sevylor Tahiti line. This includes having the same 21-gauge PVC construction, being armed with multiple air chambers, and using the Airtight® System. Both units also have spray covers to keep your dry.

The seats of the Sevylor Tahiti are inflatable. Thankfully, back support is optimized, allowing you to sail or fish for hours without fear of back strain. The two Sevylor Tahiti kayaks are packaged with a carry bag. No paddle and pump are included, and thus you have to buy them individually.

    • Sevylor Caravelle 300

Sevylor Caravelle 300 3-Person Inflatable Boat ComboThis is the part where we deviate from the 5 entries above. This is because the Sevylor Caravelle 300 is not an inflatable kayak, but rather an inflatable boat. That being said, the Sevylor Caravelle 300 seats you directly on its inflatable floor, since it does not supply a dedicated seat.

Do not take such seating arrangement as a bad thing, because that is how the craft is primarily designed. To maneuver the Sevylor Caravelle 300, you will be using oars instead of a double-bladed paddle. Molded oarlocks are affixed at the left and right sides of the unit, which results to easy rowing.

Once fully inflated, the Caravelle 300 will measure approximately 8’7” in length and 4’4” in width. This will provide enough room for 3 people. For the estimated weight capacity, the item can bear up to 600 lbs. of max bulk.

The following items are packaged with the Sevylor Caravelle 300 boat: a hand pump, and 2 oars. Much to everyone’s surprise, especially with its cheap cost, the Caravelle 300 is actually compatible with a trolling motor. Although proper outfitting is required, having the option to do is still quite the bargain.

    • Sevylor Fish Hunter 280

Sevylor Fish Hunter 280 4-Person Fishing Inflatable Boat with Berkley Rod HolderThe Sevylor Fish Hunter 280 is yet another inflatable boat on this list. However, unlike the Caravelle 300, this sort is primarily geared for fishing activities. The Berkley® Quick Set Rod Holder is proof of that.

Moreover, the rod holder is adjustable, so you can do other things while waiting for a bite. Plus, with the correct mounting accessory, you can install an outboard motor on the Sevylor Fish Hunter 280 inflatable boat, up to 4 hp. If you are not going to use an engine, the default Delrin® swivel oarlocks will let you row with ease.

When you fish, you will need room for your fishing tools. The gear pouch of the product manages such necessity quite well, while also leaving enough space for some snacks. Inflatables seats can be placed on both front and rear ends of the deck for a more effortless rowing, even when fishing for hours.

If you unintentionally fall out of the Sevylor Fish Hunter 280 inflatable boat, the grabline around it makes it easy to climb back in. Overall, the Fish Hunter 280 can fit a maximum of four people, with a total weight limit of 750 lbs.

What makes Sevylor inflatables Kayaks and Boats so great?

Sevylor Fiji 2-Person Inflatable Kayak - great fun paddlingAlthough each inflatable vessel under Sevylor has its own unique functions, all of them have the same goal, which is to give you a comfortable, expedient, and accessible boating experience. Here are just some of the elements that make this brand worth it:

    • Easy to setup and pack

Whether it is a boat or a kayak, Sevylor’s products can be folded and unfolded seamlessly. Some of its lineups even feature the easy-to-carry backpack system in which the bag itself can turn into the seat. This innovation not only saves time during setup, but it also makes for an easy storage of the item, because there is not much parts to remove prior to packing it.

    • Sevylor Quikpak K1 1-Person Inflatable Kayak - sit on top kayak

      Revolutionary valve systems

Another element that speeds up the assembly of these devices are the accessible air valves. As indicated above, Sevylor uses its own unique Double Lock Valve™ and Mini-Double Lock Valve™ systems.

These two are mostly seen in the company’s uncovered models such as boats and kayaks. Some units only have the standard double lock variant, whereas others combine it with the mini-double lock type. The Tahiti series is a good example that employs both.

How do they work, you ask? Well, simply open the cover flap of the valve and pull it up gently until the tab is fully extended, and then insert your pump’s nozzle into the opening and start inflating. Once the bladder is optimally expanded, just push the tab inwards, then remove your pump and put outer cover back.

Because you get to lock the valve before removing the pump, no air will escape. With a generic valve, some of the air will likely leak before you can even put the cap back on.

    • Durably constructed and safe to use

Sevylor Quikpak K5 1-Person Inflatable Kayak - great paddling Sevylor generally uses a combination of heavy-duty, high-grade PVC fabric and a tarpaulin bottom in their creations. This results to a strong resistance against abrasions, tears, and punctures. Lastly, majority of Sevylor-made inflatables contain multiple air chambers, allowing you to float back to land safely whenever one is pierced.

    Conclusion

Sevylor holds a wide array of inflatables for various activities, such as recreational kayaking, and fishing, among others. The catalogue above consists of 7 different units that vary in intended use. Therefore, simply choose according to your boating needs and setup.

  • Advanced Elements Inflatable Kayaks Line

    Advanced Elements Inflatable Kayaks Line

Advanced Elements brand logoAdvanced Elements is a well-known brand of inflatables. It is a supplier that is sought after mostly for their groundbreaking inflatable kayaks, but items like inflatable SUP (stand up paddleboard) and other outdoor accessories are also offered.

There are probably over a dozen manufacturers of inflatable kayaks, but only a handful truly stands out. From kayaks, to dinghies, and rafts, among others, each brand name often specializes in a specific type of inflatable, although there are several that have a wider catalogue than most.

In this article, we will be going over five of some of the company’s best products under their kayak lineups.

Brief Overview of the Advanced Elements Brand

Advanced Elements Fishbone Inflatable SUP Standup Paddle Board
    Link to Advanced Elements SUPs

Before we discuss any model, going over how Advanced Elements started and what it aspires to be, is a good way to get a sense of its innovativeness and realize how they value their every creation.

To start with, the brand was founded back in 2007. With around a decade of experience in the inflatable boat industry, it is safe to say that Advanced Elements now has a good grasp over its manufacturing technique.

However, the group shows no signs of settling with only what works. Instead, it continues to reinvent and discover new ways to make their products stay in the lead, or be among with other notable names in the market.

The business was established in Benicia, California, but it has long since expanded its reach to other states in North America, and eventually around the world. From Canada, Japan, to China, New Zealand, and Israel, just to name a few, all these places can now enjoy almost everything Advanced Elements has to offer.

When it comes to the kayak models, there are several classifications you can choose from, namely: recreational, day touring, expedition touring, crossover, angling, and whitewater. As you can see, the company has almost every kayaking activity covered.

Aside from having an extensive array of quality inflatable kayaks, the unique technologies and features that are used in each unit are possibly what keep the customers coming back. The sturdy Aluminum Rib Frame design and reliable Drop-Stitch Floor are just two of Advanced Elements’ revolutionary inventions.

    Advanced Elements Kayak Reviews

Now that you know a little more about the brand’s history and why it is highly esteemed, let us now go over 5 of its standout products. Note that the entries are not listed in any particular order. It is just a matter of choosing the one that fits your kayaking needs the closest.

    • Advanced Elements AE1007-R AdvancedFrame Convertible

Advanced Elements AE1007-R AdvancedFrame Convertible Inflatable Kayak - in use by 2 personsThe AE1007-R AdvancedFrame Convertible is one of the more unique products in Advanced Element’s arsenal. The kayak can be interchanged between close and open deck setups. Moreover, it can also accommodate either solo or tandem seating arrangement, thanks to the available conversion decks (sold separately).

If you are paddling alone, the single deck will come with multiple D-rings and a bungee deck lacing, a rear cargo hatch, and deck riser aluminum stays. The double deck on the other hand, replaces the hatch area with a second seat, but a mesh pocket and added stowing utility are employed in order to compensate for your storage needs.

The bow and stern of the device are more defined, thanks to the firmness that the built-in aluminum ribs provide. It also features a 3-layer material construction, resulting to high resistance against punctures.

An integrated pressure relief valve is installed in the floor, which is useful for preventing over-inflations, or worse, blowouts. Two folding seats are bundled with the kayak, which are complemented with two adjustable padded back supports for long lasting comfort.

Aside from its molded low-profile handles, paddle holders are also present. Plus, with the affixed tracking fin, the AE1007-R AdvancedFrame Convertible is able to slice through water with ease. Other accessories include a carry duffel bag and a repair kit.

For the physical dimensions of the kayak, it measures 15 ft. x 32 in. (length x width). Moreover, it holds a total bulk of 52 lbs., and contains up to 6 air chambers. Max weight capacity rates at 550-lbs., which is enough for 2 users with some gears, or for cruising solo with plenty of equipment.

Lastly, the AdvancedFrame Convertible is one of the select few that is compatible with the brand’s very own BackBone® or Drop-stitch floor upgrade. If you wish to ramp up the performance of this vessel, any of the two flooring systems will satisfy. Whether you upgrade or not, this craft is perfect for both day touring and expedition kayaking.

    • Advanced Elements StraitEdge Angler

Advanced Elements Straitedge Angler Inflatable Fishing Kayak - single fishermanCategorizing the StraitEdge Angler is a bit tricky because it falls under two classes of kayaking, but that is what also makes it great. In general, this model is a crossover, which means it is a hybrid of a whitewater kayak and a sea kayak. However, it is also specifically designed as a fishing/ anglers kayak, hence the name.

If you are an avid angler yourself, you know how important stability is, regardless of what type of watercraft you are using. Luckily, this unit not only has built-in aluminum ribs, but it also sports an accessory mounting bar that contributes to optimal bracing.

Apart from making the kayak more stable, such mounting frame can also accommodate rod holders, a fish finder, and other fishing utility tools. To help size up your catch, the floor is imprinted with a calibrated ruler, so you no longer have to bring in a separate measuring tool, except for an angling scale for getting weight.

The inflatable kayak has a length and width of 9 ft. 8 in. and 35 in., respectively, which is more than enough room for a solo kayaker, particularly for one that is meant for angling. The same generosity is also evident in its 300-lbs. (136 kg.) max weight capacity, allowing you to reel in those big ones without worry.

Fishing usually takes a lot of time and patience, and the longer you stay on your kayak the harder it will be on your lower back. Fortunately, the bundled seat for this model is supplemented with a high backrest and an adjustable lumbar support. Thus, you can comfortably position however you want for long hours.

Like with most Advanced Elements creations, the StraitEdge Angler is also pre-assembled at the factory. This means all you need to do is unfold it evenly, inflate, and then install the seat. However, you may have to set in and assemble the mounting frame before you start pumping air in order to ease up the process.

    • Advanced Elements AdvancedFrame Expedition Elite

Advanced Elements Advancedframe Expedition Elite AE1009-XE Inflatable Kayak - on lake with snow mountainThe AdvancedFrame Expedition Elite model is one of the sturdiest among the entire Advanced Elements product line. It doubles as a folding frame kayak and a regular inflatable kayak. This is all thanks to the aluminum rib-frame technology in its bow and stern, as well as the drop-stitch floor.

Unlike some of the other units, which need to be upgraded to obtain such flooring, this one actually has it by default. Compared to a generic air-filled floorboard, the drop-stitch variety offers considerably better rigidity to the base of the boat, essentially acting like a backbone.

When it comes to the largeness of the item, the AdvancedFrame Expedition Elite kayak measures approximately 13 ft. in length and 32 in. in width. More importantly, even though the kayak is meant for only one person, it can actually withstand up to 450 lbs. (204 kg.) of weight. There is also a huge compartment at back, so you can take full advantage of such weight limit.

It may seem excessive, but seeing as this craft is made for both day touring and expedition touring, having such capacity will actually benefit you. One principal reason as to why the AdvacedFrame Expedition Elite can bear so much heft is because of its 9 air chambers.

The adjustable high-back seat with inflatable lumbar support also pairs quite well with the close deck setup of the device. With it, not only will your lower back be optimally buttressed for long periods, but you will also get to stay warmer and drier all throughout, especially if you attach a spray skirt via the inflatable coaming.

With the boat’s neoprene knuckle guard, your rowing becomes more seamless and less likely to result in abrasions. There is also an adjustable foot brace, which aims to reduce strain on your lower extremities. Plus, the rubber-molded handles encourage easy transport of the item in and out of the water.

Packaged with the main module are the following accessories: rudder mount, duffel bag with detachable shoulder straps, and repair kit.

    • Advanced Elements AirFusion Elite

Advanced Elements AirFusion Elite inflatable kayakOut of all the various inflatable kayaks under this specific brand name, the AirFusion Elite has the narrowest profile. Its build is so thin compared to the others that you can easily distinguish it just by looking. With that said, this design approach enhances the model’s main asset, which is all about speed.

If you are looking for an inflatable vessel that can get you from point A to B, with speed that is almost, if not on par with skin-on-frame kayaks, then this one is for you. Such feat is made possible with the combined help of the hybrid aluminum alloy frame poles and high-pressure air tubes.

In terms of build size, the AirFusion elite sports a 28-in. wide and 13-ft. long body. Additionally, it only weighs 32 lbs. (14.5 kg.), and can carry up to 235 lbs. (106 kg.) of total weight.

Passenger capacity is limited to one. As for the number of air chambers, it has seven. For your storage demands, you can access the roll-top rear hatch to load in your important gears.

Other notable features of the unit include a bungee deck lacing, multiple D-ring tie downs, and an inflatable coaming for affixing a spray cover. Moreover, the device can be outfitted with an optional fixed skeg, which further improves tracking.

Much like the previous entries, this model is also built using PVC-based material. As for the accessories, you will receive a carrying bag, folding seat, and a repair kit.

    • Advanced Elements FireFly Kayak

Advanced Elements FireFly Inflatable Kayak - beautiful sceneryThe Advanced Elements FireFly kayak belongs under the recreational inflatable kayak category. It’s a great budget friendly kayak and can be used on calm lakes and bays, inland waters, and even slow rivers (Class I and II whitewater), making it quite versatile.

The FireFly can seat only one person, and with up to 250-lbs. (113 kg) of maximum weight capacity. As for the size of the boat, it measures 7 ft. 10 in. long, and 35 in. wide, when fully assembled. For the weight, it has a total heft of 16 lbs. (7 kg), which is light enough for you to carry alone.

If folded, the kayak will measure around 23 x 18 x 5 inches, which is effortless to pack. There are 3 air chambers in this unit, which adds to its level of safety in case one accidentally tears.

Some of the best features of the Advanced Elements FireFly include a rubber molded handle, a bungee deck lacing, mesh pocket, and a tracking fin. Speaking of tracking, the craft’s built-in rigid panels in its bow and stern also improve performance in this regard.

Construction-wise, the kayak is manufactured using 600 D polyester for the cover, a durable PVC tarpaulin material for the hull, and heavy-duty PVC for the main chamber. Furthermore, FireFly also features a welded perimeter seam.

Setup up is quick thanks to its accessible Twistlok™ valves and high flow Spring™ valves. In terms of accessories, a carrying duffel bag and a repair kit is bundled along with the main module.

What makes the Advanced Elements Kayaks so great?

There are a lot of facets that make each lineup of this brand a cut above the rest, more so with the 5 abovementioned kayaks. Although there are some differences in build and parts of the construction, all units are durable as is. Nevertheless, these are the aspects that make this inflatable kayak manufacturer noteworthy:

    • Amazing design

Advanced Elements AE1007-R AdvancedFrame Convertible Inflatable Kayak - features overviewOne of the most impressive advancements that the company has developed is the patented Aluminum Rib Frame design. It is, in its simplest form, an arrangement of aluminum frame, air chambers, and rigid panels, resulting in a kayak that is not only flexible, but also one that can compete with hard-shell versions.

This build is mostly seen in the AdvancedFrame® and StraitEdge™ series. However, the default built-in rigid panels, like the one found in the Firefly model, are not bad either, especially with its cheaper price tag. If you are more of a recreational kayaker, then the standard bow and stern build is more than enough.

    • Cutting-edge flooring system

Advanced Elements FireFly Inflatable Kayak - enjoyThe normal inflated floor that Advanced Elements utilizes already provides sufficient stability. But, the company is never satisfied in settling with what is merely good enough. Instead, it strives to be the very best.

This commitment is only proven true with breakthroughs such as the drop-stich floor technology and the BackBone® accessory. These two are uniquely designed but carry a singular purpose, which is to make the base of the kayak even more rigid.

The BackBone® is a multi-sectional keel beam that you can place below the inflatable floor of the boat during setup. The beam will allow the hull to assume a V shape with the help of your body weight. It not only yields additional bracing for the unit, but it also augments general trackability.

When it comes to the drop-stitch floor, it caters the most rigid hull you can ever get from the brand. It is similar to what the manufacturer uses in its SUPs, which are boards meant to be stood upon without a lot of flexing. That being said, having a floorboard in a kayak that can fully support an average-sized human that is standing upright, promises extreme rigidity.

Unfortunately, such floorings are only obtainable on certain models, one of which is the AdvancedFrame® class. Furthermore, the drop-stitch variant is more expensive than the BackBone®, so bear that in mind.

    • Reliable Construction

Advanced Elements AE1012-R AdvancedFrame Convertible Inflatable Kayak - easy to carryMajority of Advanced Elements’ products employ a multi-layer construction. What this basically entails is that the air chambers and outer lining of the kayak have their own covers. It is a huge contrast to other known inflatable boat companies that only uses one fabric for both aforesaid sections.

As for the type of material, PVC is the go-to component of the brand. An example of this is the PVC tarpaulin hull of the kayaks.

This particular build utilizes a polyester mesh fabric that is packed in between layers of vinyl. This results to a tough exterior while also maintaining flexibility, which makes each unit easy to fold and unfold.

    • Highly buoyant

Advanced Elements StraitEdge Inflatable Kayak - white water kayakingAll kayaks made by Advanced Elements do not have less than 3 air chambers. The AdvacedFrame Expedition for one has up to 9 different air chambers.

Now, why would the quantity be important, you ask? Well, the number of bladders will influence the boat’s ability to withstand heavy loads. However, its most significant impact is perhaps the provision of several backups for when one accidentally deflates, allowing you to paddle back to land safely.

There is no right or wrong choice here. As long as you have a clear idea of what type of kayaking you want to do, then choosing between the 5 entries above should be no problem. Also consider a high quality standup paddle board (SUP) of Advanced Elements. Just remember not to go beyond your means, especially if you are just starting out.

  • The Best Brands In The Inflatable Boat World

The Best Brands In The Inflatable Boat World

    Intex

Intex is actually most known for their inflatable airbeds, pools, and spas. Their home page doesn’t even say they make inflatable boats, weirdly enough. That doesn’t affect us though if anything it helps us get the good stuff for ourselves. The signature of Intex boats is their price, they’re very affordable making them popular among budget-minded consumers. You can buy yourself a large 4 person Intex boat for as little as $100. The large sizes of their boats are also one of the reasons they’re so popular.

Intex makes everything from pool toys to marine grade quality boats. Obviously, as you go for higher-end boats, you will end up paying more than $100. But even then you’ll probably be paying less than $500. A fact that is not very well known is that Intex also makes inflatable kayaks, they have several models that go for around $100.

When it comes to Intex boats, you’ll get what you pay for. Their products are not as puncture-resistant as other more expensive brands and more often than not you will outgrow your boat in a couple of months. If you’re the type of person that just wants something simple, fun but most importantly, cheap, Intex will do just fine. They’re by no means bad, they’re just lower en and less durable than the competitors.

    Classic Accessories

These guys are actually not famous for their inflatables, but their covers for boats, cars, RVs, motorcycles, scooters, grills, furniture, and much more. They were founded in 1983 in a small basement in Seattle. Who would think that a company specializing in covering things with tarps would go out and make one of the leading fishing inflatables?

Inflatable pontoon boats and fishing float tubes is where it’s at. Classic Accessories manufacture inflatables with only one goal, to make them the best fishing machines there ever was. Their boats are durable, made with high quality materials but most importantly of all, they’re always packed with features that give them the upper edge compared to their competitors.

Both their pontoon and float tubes have several different models, ranging from beginner to pro. This makes it easy for you as a consumer to make the best choice possible. It sounds like something every company would do, but believe it or not, it’s actually not that common in the inflatables world. With Classic Accessories there’s a gradual increase in price as a boat gets more features.

    Sea Eagle

Sea eagle is one of the leading brands when it comes to inflatable kayaks and boats. If you’re looking for an inflatable that will do it all, you can’t really go wrong with Sea Eagle. The majorities of their inflatables are of high quality and very well designed. They handle well in the water, require almost no maintenance and they’re even safe enough to let the kids use them. Oh, they’re pretty affordable too, it’s hard not to love them!

Sea Eagle is actually so sure you will love their products that they include a 6 month trial period. If you’re not satisfied with your purchase for some odd reason, you’ll get your money back.

They’re also one of those companies that have been in the game for a very long time, founded in 1968, they have sold thousands of inflatables over the last 40 years. It’s safe to say that Sea Eagle is one of the better companies out there and it’s really a no-brainer why people consider them to be the best.

They manufacture kayaks, stand up paddleboards, pontoon boats, canoes, and dinghies.

When buying products from Sea Eagle you buy “packages”, each inflatable will have at least two different packages you can choose from. What defines a package is what kind of accessory and gear that comes with it. The cheaper packages are not as feature-packed as the more expensive ones, swivel seats and rod holders are among the popular feature on the more expensive packages.

They offer free shipping, no matter what product you buy. You also get a 180-day risk-free trial, meaning if you dislike the boat you can return it and get your money back. All of their products are covered by a 3-year warranty as well.

    Sevylor

Another leading manufacturer in the inflatables world. Sevylor was founded in 1948 in Vitry, France, making it one of the oldest companies in the inflatables business. They offer a wide variety of inflatables, ranging from pool toys to dinghies and kayaks. In recent years they’ve taken the paddleboard market with a storm, and it’s what they’ve been slowly shifting their focus towards.

Sevylor is also now a part of the Coleman family, meaning their products go under both Sevylor and Coleman. Don’t worry, the quality is still the same, the only difference is the brand name. Unlike their standup paddleboards, their inflatable boats and kayaks are much cheaper, almost all of their cheap inflatable kayaks cost below the $500 mark. Their paddleboards all cost above the $1000 mark, yikes!

You know that Sevylor makes top-notch inflatables when they still sell a model that was first manufactured in 1963, that’s right! It’s their Tahiti Kayak and it’s their oldest model. Sevylor even claims it has been paddled the length of the Amazon River, not once, but twice.

Sevylor inflatables are made with love, are of high quality, and affordable, there’s little to dislike about them. If you want to get something well rounded that’s not too hard on your wallet, taking a look at their selection is definitely recommended!

    Creek Company ColoradoCreek Company

If you’re the type of guy that’s into fly fishing, you’ve probably heard about Creek Company. The company is based in Colorado and they’ve been making boats dedicated to fly fishing for over two decades now. One would argue that the company is most known for their inflatable float tubes with “above-the-water” seating, but they also make some really nice pontoon boats. If you enjoy fly fishing you’re going to be delighted to find that you will have plenty of pontoons to choose from. Most of these boats will handle class 2 rapids without problems, they’re versatile and made specifically for fly fishing.

All of their boats are triple-layered. The outer layer is a thick and heavy-duty, 30 oz. PVC which has been thermally welded to ensure it will be as durable as possible. Inside you’ll find a 420 denier nylon layer that protects the 30 gauge PVC bladders.

Creek Company offers good value for your money, and even though you can find similar budget models that go for cheaper, buying a boat from Creek Company will guarantee a quality purchase.

    Newport Vessels logoNewport Vessels

Newport Vessels specialize in inflatable dinghies and stand up paddleboards. Their crafts offer excellent comfort, reliability, and durability. They’re very popular with owners with larger boats, Newport dinghies work great as tender boats, taking you from your boat to shore and back.

They have a large selection of dinghies which range from 8 feet to 12 feet. Their largest boats will hold up to 6 people. Most of their boats have an aluminum framed hardwood floor, but they do also have two dinghies with air floors.

They’re not as cheap as Intex but for a good reason, they’re made with quality materials, all of the boats are made with 1,100 denier fabric with a triple-layered PVC coating. This makes them abrasion and puncture-resistant but also protected from various weather elements. When you purchase one of their products you’ll get a ton of accessories. Storage bags, repair kits, foot pumps, aluminum oars, and even bench seats, all of this stuff is well worth over $150. Every boat has a 2-year warranty as well.

Newport Vessels might not be as cheap as Intex boats, but compared to other inflatable dinghy manufacturers, they’re well below the average price.
